“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”
It is faithfulness with little that qualifies you to move on to your next level. Heaven is very prudent with its resources and if you have worked with God long enough, you will know him and understand how he works. He is very prudent with his resources and He hates waste – John 6:13
If you are effective with your management, God will somehow ensure that you never get back to your starting point. He will ensure you go beyond lack (Proverbs 21:20)
You cannot afford to be sentimentally attached to things if you are going to prosper financially. Inside the harvest that you just got are some seeds and if you can’t discipline yourself in spending N10,000 you won’t be able to discipline yourself in spending N10 million. When money comes, money doesn’t change anybody, money doesn’t improve you, money only amplifies what is in your hand.
How you spend money is a habit and here are some tips in cultivating excellent habit in the management of money.
As a believer, you need to develop a budget and enforce that budget. There is no amount of money that cannot be budgeted. Whatever your income is now, decide how it will be spent before it arrives. Some of the things you will need to include in your budget are:

Kingdom investment: The same way you want to invest in shares, real estate, fixed deposit is the same way you should invest in God’s kingdom – Matthew 6:19-21.
Savings: Savings is a way of paying yourself therefore take time to save. Financial experts recommend a minimum of 10% for savings. What you save during the years of surplus becomes gold during the years of famine (Genesis 41). You can also save in banks too. It helps you to take care of sudden changes and unforseen circumstances.
Housekeeping: This is the money you will use to take care of your bills. Make provision for utilities such as your rent, electricity bill, transportation, phone bills etc. – 1 Timothy 5:8.
Debt payment. If you are owing money, don’t wait till you have some lump sum before paying the money. Try your best to get out of debt as fast as you can – Proverbs 22:7.
Tax – Romans 19:6-8
Others: Buy books, clothes, making provision to enjoy yourself -1 Timothy 6:16
Lastly, spend less than you earn.
Its not how much you spend that makes you rich but it is how much you give and invest. Ecclesiastes 5:11
Stop trying to live to people’s expectation. Don’t help people beyond your ability.
Matthew 5:25-29. Money will always flow from those who don’t treat it well to those who treat it well.
