The moment Jesus was accredited, the next point of call was to go into the Wilderness to be tempted by the devil. It was the Father himself that bragged on Jesus. And the wilderness was the Theatre for testing.
Jesus arrived the testing place before the Devil. And he decided to fast and pray no because he went there to fast, he was going there to be tempted.
He starved his flesh and fed his spirit so that if anything presses him, it’ll be his spirit that will respond.
When Satan came, the bone of contention was what was declared about Jesus by the Father. Satan was literally saying ” We heard your father say you’re his beloved son, and he’s well pleased with you ” So now, you’ll have to identify with it also. ” If you are the son of God, turn this stones to become Bread ”
Jesus made a statement that was bigger than what Satan asked and wanted to hear.
The reason why you’re still falling for the devil’s temptations anytime he throws it at you is because you’re responding in the flesh. A time needs to come when you’ll ascend and come into the very realm of God, there and then, you’ll see how insignificant and little Satan’s arrows are. If only you’ll fast and pray. When last did you feed your Spirit?
