My grade eight teacher called me to her office. “According to your grades, you are an avarage student.” At that time, I didn’t even know what average means. So I asked the teacher and she explained in layman’s term that my chances of continuing to grade nine was fifty–fifty (50/50).
As a student, my mind went far and wide as I thought about it. I always dream of flying on the plane since I was a grade 4 student. Will I ever fly on the plane? I kept asking myself. Nights turn into tears as I tried to figure out what was wrong with me. My dream of flying on the plane was strong but no one believed in me since I was performing poorly.
Years later, I was standing in Brisbane Australia, looking at the Airbus I was gonna take to the United States of America.
Tears formed in my eyes. I couldn’t believe that my dream was beyond just getting on a plane. Now I was about to enter the biggest plane I have ever seen.
Thinking back, I was not a top student. I was average as my teachers said. I even get zeroes in some of my tests or even score the lowest in class most of the times.
If there was a lesson I learnt and I want to share with you all, it is this:
Never let anyone tell you that you can’t do anything when the bible clearly says “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
God is bigger than straight A’s nor even straight D’s. God can do in an instant what we can’t do in a lifetime. Whatever your dreams are, go after them even if things aren’t going your way. If you face down moments or failures, remember, GOD never creates a mistake and you are one in a million.
If you Trust GOD no matter what, He will make a way for you where there seemed to be no way. May your dreams come true as you put GOD first.
