Worthy is the Lamb, and we praise the Lord because He counted us worthy to call and believe His name and to have part in what He did on Calvary, and I pray He will find us worthy for His kingdom at last in Jesus name.

THE INDISPENSABLE LAMB AND THE INESTIMABLE BOOK
REVELATION 5:1-14

1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

In between those two verses (verses 1 and 14), we see that there was a search in heaven. God was seated on the throne and John saw a book in His hand. There was a a cry on who is worthy to open the book and loosen the seals. In heaven and on earth, no one was worthy to do this. John the beloved knew the importance, indispensability and necessity of opening the book: so that the world could have a demonstration of the things written in it.

After a while, an elder came and told John that the search was over and Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah was ready to open the book, break the seals and read it. All creatures in heaven were excited and began to praise and glorify God On the throne and the Lamb who has prevailed to open the book.

What were those things written in that book, when the contents are read, what will happen? What is the effect of opening the book for you as an individual, for John, the whole church and the whole earth in which we live? The book actually contains all the plans God has made to redeem the world. How do we know this?

After the Lamb opened the book, and opened the seals one after the other, when the last seal was opened, it was written that all the kingdoms of this world are become that of God and of His Christ (Revelation 11:15). Christ must reign over the whole earth and the universe, but before this, all the seals will be opened and everything written therein will be dramatized.

A. THE WOEFULNESS WITHOUT LOOSENING OR OPENING THE BOOK. Revelation 5:1-4

The book was perfectly sealed that no intruder could counterfeit, spoil, defile, deface, destroy the seals or open the book. John the beloved wept when there was no one to open and look into the book.

The Notable Wonder In Heaven: The Search For One To Open The Book
The book is unique because there is no other book like it which only God knows the content. No one in heaven or on earth could take and open it.

The book is a title deed and contains the plan to redeem and restore the earth to its original beauty and glory, and then hand it over to the Lord. The book could not be opened because it was sealed (Daniel 12:4) Daniel has seen what will happen at the end of age when a stone without hand will be thrown to destroy the kingdoms of the earth and the stone will become a mountain and occupy the whole earth. This means that the dominion of Christ will be forever, and never end. There will also be a fight at which time a sword will come out form the mouth of the Prince of princes and destroy all the armies of the antichrist (vs 9).

None Worthy In Heaven To Open The Book. Revelation 5:3
Because of the sealing of the book till the end, no one could know what was inside it. Now the saints are around and before the throne of God and at this time, and a call came out for someone to open the book and loosen the seals (Isaiah 29:11-12) As important as the book was, no one could read it, both learned and unlearned.
There was none worthy to open the book apart from Jesus Christ.

Noticeable Weeping Until The Opening Of The Book. Revelation 5:4
John was saved, sanctified, filled with the power of the Holy Ghost, He has seen the glorified Christ in chapter 1. He has seen the revelation of the church before and after the rapture, he was in the spirit and caught up into heaven, yet he wept much because there was no one to open the book. This tells us that with all the privileges, insights and experiences he had, he wept much.

There are some people who do not know that any book exists. When Joshua came to the edge of the promise land, there was a book for him to occupy, conquer and possess the promise land. That book must be followed. The book of the law must not depart from him but he must open, read, and meditate therein.

When Jesus came to this world, all that He needed to do to bring restoration to the earth were written in the book. Joshua had a book written concerning him. The apostles of the Lord were commissioned to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. They were to bring redemption, regeneration and the light of God into the heart of man. Paul went by the book because he could read.

In your own personal life, God has a book written about you in particular (Psalm 139:16-18) Some people do not know why they are in the world, they do not know what God has written concerning them. That is why you need to be saved and be directed by God. If you are saved, sanctified and baptized in the Holy Ghost, you should be weeping if you do not know what the plan of God is for your life, and why you are on earth.
Now, God has found the book of your life: what you are to do and accomplish. Do you remember Jesus and Paul saying that they have finished their courses? Concerning you, your life and the plan of God for your life, have you started working on it or are you roaming about, wasting your time and are you so blind that you seem to not know that you are here for a purpose? The saints of old could say, I have finished. I pray that God will help you so that you will know everything that God wants you to do and accomplish.

Acts 13:27. The Jews and their rulers in the synagogues read and read in the book of God every Sabbath day, yet, they could not understand. They did not know that the Saviour has come and the door of the kingdom has been opened to whosoever will come in. They could not understand because they did not yield themselves to the Spirit of God.

Are you also like those who come to church every service day and yet, you do not know the Lord? (vs 46) When the Jews rejected salvation and everlasting life, the apostles turned to the Gentiles so that they will not waste their time and lives.
You need to weep like John if you come to church and hear over and over the word of God and you are not saved. If you come to church and you keep living the same way every day, month and year, only amassing the things of this world, you ought to stop and weep, and ask God what was written in the book concerning you and why you are here. May God’s grace be sufficient for you so that after this world, you will be able to have a good testimony that you finished well.

Imagine you already getting old and you have not even started the first sentence of the book of your life. When you get to eternity and discovered that you did not do all that you could have done, what will you tell God? May God deliver you from such wanton wastage in Jesus name.

B. THE WORTHINESS OF THE LAMB TO OPEN THE BOOK. Revelation 5:5

This book of books, this greatest book in the universe, only the Lamb was qualified to open the book. Now we have the Bible which shows us the grace of God and how to have transforming experiences with Him. This book that can transport us to heaven. Jesus opened the eyes of the two disciples He met on their way to Emmaus so they could understand perfectly all that were written in the book concerning Him.

He also revealed Himself to the disciples where they locked themselves in, rebuked and opened their understanding on all that were written.
Saul of Tarsus going here and there, persecuting believers was met by the Lord on the way to Damascus. He became physically blind as an evidence that he has been spiritually blind all along. He prayed for three days and Ananias visited and prayed for him and his eyes were open. Then the book was opened for him and he could take it everywhere with him. Only Christ can open the book of your life and show you why you are here. You need to pray to Him to help you out so you don’t spend your life in darkness.

The seven horns of the Lamb depict perfect power and the seven eyes perfect knowledge and insight as well as the seven spirits of God sent over the whole earth.

The Wonder Of The Lion In His Reign
One of the elders came to tell John to stop weeping because the Lion, the King, the highest and the mightiest, the most powerful has prevailed to open the book. The Lion of the tribe of Judah, Jesus Christ is the King of the whole universe (Revelation 19:16) All power in heaven and on earth is given to Him. He prevails just as the Lion prevails over other animals.

The antichrist is shown as the beast, Satan as a dragon while the false prophet of the antichrist is shown as the second beast. Jesus as the Lion will defeat them all. He has prevailed and given us victory in our lives over every power of Satan and the antichrist. Whenever they want to devour you, just look up to Jesus and cry to Him, He will come between you and the roaring lion, tear it to pieces and give you total victory.

The Worthiness Of The Lamb For Redemption
Jesus died and gave His life for the world after which He went to heaven. The sacrifice on Calvary many years ago is still as fresh as ever, His blood is still as fresh as ever. As He saved the thief on the cross instantaneously, so He will save you and wipe away your sins if you come to Him.

The Lamb is still as gentle, loving, gracious and as meritorious as He was.
vs 8-12. Jesus was already slain and had redeemed mankind. Numerous and uncountable saints who have become saved from the first person in the first generation to the last person to get saved in the last generation, including us gathered to praise and glorify the Lamb.

Our Wakefulness To The Life Of Rejoicing
If He has saved you, and you are not walking in darkness with dimness of sight, and you can see what is written concerning you in the book of God, and the power of God is moving you on, you have to glorify and sing praises to God (Luke 10:20-) Do not rejoice even if the sun and the moon stand at your command like Joshua, or you have the power to do everything you can, but rejoice when your name is written in the book of life. There is nothing you have that is enough to equate your place in heaven. Rejoice because the worthy One has taken your sins away and turned your life around for good.
Wake up and examine the experiences you have. Check up your salvation, sanctification and your place in heaven. You may not have buildings, wealth, certificates, control over a number of people, etc. but if you are saved and you know that you are part of the brides of Christ, you have every reason to rejoice (Revelation 19:7-8).

C. THE WORSHIP OF THE LORD AFTER OBTAINING THE BOOK. Revelation 5:11-14
All beings on earth are divided into three:

Animals which have beginning and end. They are not to be worshipped.

Humans who have beginning and no end. Their beginning was when they were born but their lives will not end as they will continue living either in hell or in heaven. They are not to be worshipped.

Those who do not have beginning or ending. From eternity to eternity, God is God, Christ is Christ, and same is the Holy Ghost, the blessed Trinity. These are the Ones to worship. All those who worship other beings will end up worshipping the antichrist. Even when John was so excited because of the revelations he just received and fell down to worship the angel, the angel did not allow him but told him to worship only God. The angel does not have an end but he has a beginning.

The Ascending Worship Of The Gracious Lamb. Revelation 5:13
The praises started from the four beasts, to the twenty four elders, then the angels and finally the redeemed in their thousands and thousands. They all worshipped and praised the Lamb for ever and ever.

The Acceptable Worship From Godly Lives.
Some people are inside the circle drawn by the Lamb. Some are outside the circle so they do not have access to the washing and cleansing of the Lamb. Some are at the edge of the circle just looking in, seeing the joy and hope of the believers, yet, they are not doing anything to get in to rejoice and worship with them. But when someone walks up to him and encourages him, he walks in and gives his life over to the Lord and begins a new life.
The time will come when the trumpet will sound and the Lord will say it is time and will gather His own from every part of the world and the spirit of God will catch them up. The only thing we will doing for the rest of our lives is to worship and praise. All sorrows, persecution, affliction, problems and disturbances of the world gone, all darkness gone and we will be in the light for ever. Over there, we will look at the face of our Saviour and praise Him forever for amazing grace.

If you cannot praise God now, praising Him in eternity will be strange to you. If you are not in the circle now, when we are all gone at the rapture, you will remain here. You will see us afar off in heaven just as the rich man saw Lazarus being comforted by Father Abraham in heaven. You can see us and will not be able to cross over.
I will be inside the circle saved, sanctified, and victorious. When the Lord shall come, I shall see Him and His praises will be in my mouth forever.
