HONOUR can be IMPARTED in ministry!!!
This is one of the hidden truths associated with the ministry of the laying on of hands.
We read in Scriptures the story of a young man by the name of Joshua who carried THE SAME HONOUR that Moses carried, and this was transferred to him by the laying on of hands.
NUMBERS 27: 18-20
18 And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and LAY THINE HAND UPON HIM;
19 And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.
20 AND THOU SHALT PUT SOME OF THINE HONOUR upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.
The HONOUR upon the life of Moses was imparted to Joshua, meaning that IN MINISTRY, HONOUR IS TRANSFERABLE.
We see the effect of this impartation in that the children of Israel obeyed him and followed his leadership despite the fact that he was a young chap.
Transfer Of Honour By The Fathers
This is reinforced in the Book of Deuteronomy.
And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL HEARKENED UNTO HIM, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.
The children of Israel obeyed Joshua, just like they did unto Moses, because something had landed on him, and what was it? HONOUR!
We also saw the same model in the New Testament in Paul/Timothy. Paul laid hands on Timothy and the deposit of Grace in Paul was transferred to Timothy – 2 Tim.1:6.
Timothy was a young man but we see him representing Paul at outdoor ministrations; leading people of different age brackets including the elderly; ordaining leaders in the church, etc. – Phil 2:19-24, 1Tim.5:1-7, 1 Tim.3:1-13.
Although the ministry of the laying on of hands is a vital channel of transferrence, it does not however mean that there are no other means by which THE SAME HONOUR upon a man of God can be transferred to another vessel. No No No!!!
The most important thing is your HEART POSTURE. Vital channels like prophetic declarations, faithful followership, giving in faith and honour to a man of God, etc. are also in line.
Elisha was a faithful follower; he followed Elijah despite the mockery hurled at him by his colleagues and THE HONOUR upon Elijah rested on him.
He called Elijah “FATHER” – 2 Kgs.2:12; not “THAT GUY” and in his own ministry too, kings of nations called him “FATHER” as exemplified by King Joash of Israel – 2Kgs.13:14.
Remember also that after the mantle of Elijah landed on Elisha, his colleagues who mocked him earlier came to bow to him.
2 KINGS 2:15
And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him
Something had shifted in the realm of the Spirit for Elisha – THE HONOUR OF GOD upon the life of Elijah had rested on him.
Dear minister, it’s important to realize that some things are purely “spiritual” in ministry.
You don’t force or compel people to honour you; they rather respond to the Grace of God upon your life.
When you HONOUR your fathers, mentors, teachers, instructors and rolemodels in ministry, the HONOUR of God upon them will rub on you.
There’s something that is noteworthy in that Book of Numbers that I quoted earlier – the carrier or vessel that carries the HONOUR of God can determine the flow of that honour to you.
It’s not exclusively God’s prerogative; the vessel must also be WILLING to transfer “HIS HONOUR” to you.
God told Moses about Joshua:
And THOU SHALT PUT some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.
Therefore Moses had a part to play. Real blessings flow from the HEART; not the “HEAD”.
That’s why in this Kingdom, BLESSINGS are not HIJACKED; they are TRANSFERRED.
The man transferring the blessing must have his heart favourably disposed towards you for it to make sense.
That’s why Isaac requested for a venison (what he loved) – Gen. 27:3-4; because his heart would be happy, for BLESSINGS FLOW FROM A JOYFUL HEART; NOT FROM A SORROWFUL HEART.
This is a major PRINCIPLE OF IMPARTATION. There’s no need to kill oneself in ministry because certain things don’t answer to one; one should just do the right thing.
That’s why we teach about HONOUR. Let me share two stories (out of many) with you before I close.
As a minister, I don’t bring any minister for programmes without a solid preparation to HONOUR them in terms of honorarium and every other treatment that a man of God deserves and I have been doing that since 2003 when I started direct pastoring.
In the year 2013, I hosted my father in the Lord for a Conference and we just decided as a ministry to stretch and go the extra mile in terms of HONOUR.
Well, he prayed for me, and guess what; I went to preach for a ministry son shortly after and they blessed me with THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY that we gave my father as honourarium (it was the highest I ever received in ministry then and I was “afraid” of God).
Once again, some things are very spiritual in ministry. Also, recently I planted a seed of honour into A HIGHER GRACE and two days later, one of my sons gave me a seed in foreign currency (Dollars) which was over times two of what I planted.
You can’t say THAT’S A COINCIDENCE! No serious believer or minister believes in coincidence.
You had better don’t listen to people who tell you that “money is not a seed” or “material things are not seeds”. We need to handle the Word of God with sincerity of heart.
While the Word of God is the Seed – Lk.8:11, the Bible teaches that material things are “seeds” too – 2 Cor.9:5-10.
Why will you draw from a man of God and you don’t communicate back to him in financial and material things and you’re saying that God will reward him?
Galatians 6:6, 2 Corinthians 9:11, 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13, and Hebrews 13:7 have nipped that in the bud.
We just need to stop fighting. For instance, I have never asked anybody to call me “Daddy”, and when someone uses the word “Daddy”, somebody somewhere is angry and fussing.
Such “backlashes” don’t get my attention by God’s Grace. Well, I’m not given to sentiments; I say it the way it is.
I’m just busy with my work and WALKING IN HONOUR with my fathers, mentors, teachers and instructors.
People need to know that certain flows in people’s lives and ministry are as a result of IMPARTATIONS.
They didn’t beg for it; SOMETHING has rubbed on them by pressing the right buttons.
And truth is that HONOUR CAN BE IMPARTED. You can’t sow SEEDS OF HONOUR and receive HARVEST OF DISHONOUR in return. NEVER!!!
Honour begets honour in life and ministry.
When Heaven HONOURS you, the earth must HEAR YOUR VOICE.
The pictures Above speak volumes!!!
Trust this is a blessing Sirs and Mas?
